Thanksgiving

Here are the kiddos in their indian costumes from school. They wore them all day! We had a great Thanksgiving even if when the turkey was carved it was GREEN! I guess it can happen if during processing the gall bladder is nicked. Luckily my amazing mother in law whipped out a ham and a smoked turkey she just happened to have on hand. She is one amazing lady!
Happy Holidays everyone

The Gap

Kolton lost his first tooth on Saturday. It is almost silly how excited mom and dad got over this little milestone! K-dawg was pretty excited too! He was chewing on his shirt (yes he is part puppy it seems) and told Darin his tooth was loose. With a little non-painful persuasion it came out without alot of blood. Kolton was very excited to put his tooth under his pillow and woke up bright and early to find the two dollars from the toothfairy.

Baby Trends
If you are noticing that we move each time we have a child, you are right on!
Moved from Provo to Portland after Kolton was born
Moved from Portland to Layton via Salt Lake just before Madi was born
Moving from Layton to Idaho Falls now that Little Landon is here
I guess I should just start packing every time I get pregnant!

Idaho or BUST
For the last 5 or 6 our goal has been to move back to Idaho, the land of our roots. It always seemed like the unicorn, you can see it but not touch it! This summer we got serious about it. Darin vamped up his resume and I scoured the classified to find opening for accountants. On the last day of a summer trip up to Idaho I found a posting in the good old Post Register for an Idaho Falls Accounting firms seeking someone with Darin's experience. I passed on the info and he sent off the resume. He interviewed, we waited and waited somemore, had a baby, waited some more and then received an offer that felt right. So we are MOVING!! Darin starts his new job December 2. The kids and myself will stick around until the weekend of December 18 to let Kolton finish school before Christmas. Now we just need to get our house on the market and sell it, no easy task in such a soft market! Your prayers would be appreciated!!

Storybook Halloween

Our Children's Musuem hosted a fun little Halloween activity. The kids rotated through nursery rhythm stories, fairy tales, and tall tales, hearing each story and getting a prize at each station. We especially love the flutes they got at one station and it was a tragedy when Kolton broke his. Somehow we survived. Madi is standing by Sleeping Beauty, and Kolton found a horse to ride.
Tradition

Halloween was always my dad's holiday, he had this horrible mask that to this day still scares me that he would wear. He took us trick-or-treating, and always brought home pumpkins for us to carve for Family Home Evening. I think he wanted to hand down the pumpkin carving tradition because he gave us these really great carving pumpkins. The kids were so excited! It was fun carving with them. I love K-dawgs pumpkin with it's small circle eyes! M-girl had fun even though at first she wasn't going to scoop out the guts!

A baby has to be held

Brandon came to see us in the hospital!
We were so lucky my mom and dad were in town when we went into the hospital because mom stayed down in Utah with the kids. I think she really enjoyed seeing the baby in the hospital because usually it is a few weeks before she sees her grandchildren.
Daddy and the kiddos love to hold Landon!
It's a BOY!

We welcomed little Landon to our family on September 20 (which is also his cousin Hayden's birthday) just before 4:00 pm. He came a blessed three weeks early and weighed just under 7 pounds. I was looking huge and so ready to have him here. We didn't find out what we were having so it made the delivery extra special. He looks a lot like his big brother!

Madi's pre-school

With Kolton in kindergarten I am loving my one on one time with Madi. She is also going to school with a round robin neighborhood pre-school. Four of us moms are taking a month teaching. I took September so I can get mine done before the baby comes. It has been so great for Madi!! She is learning a lot and I am so proud of her!!
Cake Class

With Darin's nightmarish September schedule at work I decided I needed to give myself at least one night off from the kids. I am taking a cake decorating class every Tuesday and a nice neighbor girl comes and plays with the kids and babysits for me. Here is my first attempt at cake decorating. I know some of you aren't BYU fans but their victory over the Sooners on Saturday seemed like a good reason for a celebration cake.

Kindergarten Here We Come

Kolton had his first day of kindergarten this week. Well actually the kids only went for an hour on Monday and then back for testing another day later in the week. Kolton is really excited for next week when they offically go everyday! I have to admit I have had a few "my baby is growing up" moments but he is so ready and excited it helps with the ache of my baby starting school.
His teacher's name is Mrs. Gray and she has been teaching kindergarten for 34 years!

The Kids New Room

With the baby coming we needed to clear out a room for the nursery. We moved Kolton and Madi in together and before we did we gave that room a much needed face lift with a new paint job. I had a hard time convincing Darin to do red, he seems to connect the color with a certain college football team. We were both pleased with how the room turned out. I found Madi some ladybug bedding, I still haven't found the right bedding for Kolton. They both love the bunkbeds!
I have a few more decorating ideas but after all that hard work painting the room I hate to put nails in it.

Ode to the Chevy S10

This truck has been in my family for 17 years! I have really great memories of this handy vehicle. I remember when we first got it and we loved the fold down seats in the back. This was my high school vehicle (as well as all my other siblings'). I loved driving it to ball games and hanging with friends. I have great Oregon memories of a wonderful summer Darin and I spent there before kids showed up on the scene. We bought the S10 so we could haul our stuff out there as Darin did a summer internship.
Now the truck has a new owner. Yep we sold it this week on good old KSL Classifieds. I didn't realize how attached I was to this "clean, one owner" truck until we started cleaning it out on Saturday getting it ready to sell. Darin and I spent 3 hours giving it a much needed detail job and I mean detail (we cleaned the vents with Q-tips). During the detail we found black nibs that Jess says were probably his.
Now the truck has a new home. As a "take that" to all you doubting Thomases that told us we wouldn't be able to sell it, the truck sold after 5 hours of posting it in the classifieds. I knew it would sell quick and I know we will miss it!
